A Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training
Who Are We
Carolyn Cowan
Carolyn Cowan runs a business called Devotion in Balham. She is a charismatic and empowering teacher and lives in London with her husband and two children who were both born at home. Carolyn worked as a doula for three years until 2002, is a specialist in overcoming fear during pregnancy and dealing with pain in labour. She has produced a successful DVD Kundalini Yoga for a Conscious Pregnancy and has been teaching Kundalini Yoga since 1998.
Satya Kaur
Satya Kaur is one of the founding directors of the international Karam Kriya School, Yoga Productions and Quinta do Rajo, in Portugal.
She has been teaching Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan since 1981 and training teachers since 2001.
Satya trained and worked as a Registered Midwife between 1991 and 2000, in Haringey, North London.
She is the author of “Yoga, Kundalini e Eu – um manual de yoga para o despertar do ser”, Editora Ariana, the first Kundalini Yoga book written and published in Portuguese.
In recent years she has been using Myth-a-Drama as a means of accessing and playing with one's hidden and creative potential. This, in her view. complements the discipline of the yogic lifestyle.
Satya Kaur has a down to earth approach to most things and therefore her teaching style is simple and engaging.
Satya is married to Shiv Chran Singh and they live in Portugal. They have three sons and two grand-children.
Elena O'Keeffe
Elena O'Keeffe is an enthusiastic, insightful and versatile teacher. She has studied Kundalini Yoga since meeting Yogi Bhajan in 1999. She took the path of teaching pregnancy yoga in 2004, inspired by Conscious Pregnancy trainers and by her own mother, who is a professional midwife.
Elena's pregnancy classes and partner's preparation workshops were offered within NHS settings and gained a good reputation amongst West Berkshire midwives. Her teaching is based on the recognition and respect of the emotional and psychological needs of others, even when those others may not recognise or express their own needs.
She divides her time between running GDV LIFE diagnostic modality (a holistic health check up utilising computerised bio-field assessment) and charity work, helping Russian orphans and vulnerable mothers who are at risk of abandoning their children.
Elena and her husband Darryl O'Keeffe have two children, a 7 years old son and a daughter who they sadly lost in 2008.
